Who am I

My name is Richard Westley and for the past 20 years I have loved and lived Clay Target Shooting.
Let me tell you a bit about myself.
I live on a farm in Mpumalanga, South Africa and for the past 36 years I have been shooting Clay Targets.
It all started at ERPM Shooting Club in Boksburg, South Africa, shooting Ball Trap and Olympic Skeet. How about this – my first gun being a FN Browning. 32” barrel, full choke, 5 shot, automatic. My pride and joy.
We had inter club competitions and even traveled as far as Stilfontein in those days.
ERPM and Highveld Shooting Clubs closed down and Durban Deep Skeet Club was established, where I served as a committee member.
My first Springbok Colours came in 1980and I represented South Africa in the UK. I also received colours on many occasions and traveled to Spain, Egypt
Over the years my love for the sport has never waned and I have progressed to being an International Judge. On my last trip to the World Cup in Lonato, Italy, I met so many interesting people. We would sit around a table after a day’s shooting discussing, joking, throwing around ideas and when the shoot was over it was like a contact had been disconnected.
This is the idea round this blog.
Do you have a new idea, thought, suggestion, just a word about your shooting? Blog it here.
Does your club have any news or an up and coming shoot? Blog it here.
Do you need to know anything about the rules? Blog it here.
Do you want to know where to buy your ammo? Blog it here.
I am aiming to get the shooting world to get together right here.
Leave your comment and we will get this started together.
